The apply correction feature has been implemented to allow an instructor to retrospectively apply the full credit for an answer if the answer was marked as incorrect by the system. This requirement can arise when there is an issue with the question as authored – maybe all possible correct answers were not envisaged or encapsulated by the question author. The system will adjust the evidence on the node and its prerequisites and post-requisites accordingly.
Steps:
To apply a correction:
- Click on the Apply correction
link for the question
- Click on OK on the popup
message that appears to confirm this action
- Note the status of the question
is changed to Correct and in parentheses it is indicated that the question has
been corrected
The instructor has the ability to view the effect of the correction on a node by clicking on the student map and selecting the node. From there, in the Results tab, the list of actions that a student has taken is listed. If a correction has been applied the activity type will be noted as Correction.
An instructor must have Full access to the section in the Ownership and sharing in order to use this feature.
